Captain Tracy Smelcer began the Fire Service in 1987 at age 16 as a Secondary Firefighter in Shelby County. After graduating high school, he continued to pursue further training in the field of fire firefighting and EMS. Captain Smelcer attended Wallace State College to obtain an Alabama Medical Technician License. He has multiple certifications from The Alabama Fire College. Captain Smelcer is assigned to Station 1. He is a M.E.M. at Walmart Stores Inc.

Captain Tom Rach grew up just outside of Chicago, IL. At age 27 Tom moved to Florida and started working for Walt Disney World. Tom started out as a volunteer firefighter serving the community he live in while attending the Fire Academy. Tom holds multiple certifications in fire fighting and in the field of Emergency Medicine. Making the move to Alabama was an easy decision for Tom, however leaving the fire service was not. In October 2007 Tom returned to what he loves most. He currently serves as Captain assigned to Station 2 with Green Pond Fire Department.

Captain Jeb Yarbrough has recently returned to the Green Pond Fire Department after a brief hiatus. He has 7 years experience in firefighting with 6 of those years spent at Green Pond. Jeb holds multiple certifications from the Alabama Fire College. He is the Captain assigned to Station 3.
